The Seasons of Parastoo is a gorgeous unique book about Parastoo, who loves the colours that make up her world, especially the blue swallows that live in the tree in her garden. She is sad when they fly south for winter (and doubly sad as her mother also has to go away for a while). But when her grandparents take care of her, she continues to find joy in each season.
Parastoo adores the colours of autumn too – orange, red, brown and yellow. And she loves the cold, crisp air. But she doesn’t love that the birds fly away.
But she still longs for spring, when her mother will return – just like the swallows. This story on celebrating the cycles of nature, is a warm and reassuring message about seasons – and life – all come and go, with their own special beauty.
In every season, the beautiful blue that Parastoo loves, appears somewhere in the artwork. Waiting is difficult, but the swallows always return – and so does Parastoo’s mother. A loving meditation on the progression of seasons, and missing a loved one. Publisher’s Weekly.
