This tiny bamboo toothbrush is designed for children under 8. It’s made from the world’s fastest-growing grass (industrial bamboo is not the same as fresh shoots, eaten by pandas). Plastic toothbrushes are one of the world’s biggest form of landfill waste, as dentists suggest we all change our toothbrush every three months or so.
Supervise children when brushing teeth. Use with Green People organic children’s toothpastes, in easy-to-recycle sugar-cane packaging. Never use xylitol-sweetened toothpastes in homes with pets (just licking from around mouths or sinks could harm).
This brush features castor oil bristles, a small head and slim neck, to make it easy to brush hard-to-reach areas. The smooth handle is dipped in water-based paint, so each child knows whose brush is whose, in the family bathroom.
Designed in South Devon (near Dartmoor National Park) and made ethically in China, the brush is wrapped in tissue paper and sold in an easy-to-recycle card sleeve.
The only caveat with bamboo is not to steep in water, or your toothbrushes with biodegrade away! To avoid animal hair, bristles are synthetic (nylon and bamboo dust). At end of use, remove with pliers, and compost the brush.
The bamboo travel case is ideal to protect the brush, especially if on holiday. Made from polished bamboo, it features an etched logo and cute panda face, with ventilation holes, to let the toothbrush dry out between uses.
