Fancy Plant-Based Chocolate Pots
Fancy Plants is a new brand of dessert to look out for on the shelves. If you’re fed up of the same one or two choices, check out this range of plant-based puds. Made with coconut milk, they contain fibre and you can recycle the packaging. There’s a vegan rice pudding option and a silky chocolate or salted caramel pudding, as well as a mango passion fruit chia pudding.
The desserts use chicory root fibre, which is a form of prebiotic fibre. This is basically good bacteria for your gut, so you can use these instead of dairy yoghurt or Yakult (which is just refined sugar and milk basically). The desserts are thickened with seaweed (the tiny amount should not affect people with trhyoid issues, but check first).
If you think that people won’t switch, note this company is Australia. Founder John Foss had a business background and farming, and decided to launch them. He made $2 million in 150 days! And he’s on course for his company to take £100m in the next three years. The popularity of making tasty fun desserts for everyone, obviously is where it’s at.
