Ecoblooms is a book written for floral professionals, to elevate the ‘eco’ conversation by disrupting the established assumption that the flower industry must rely on chemicals and imported blooms. The author invites readers to adopt her ‘better than’ philosophy, based on floral design with care and intention. And offering encouraging steps towards preserving the health of the planet. The book features an extensive gallery of sustainable floral design ideas and inspiration, from small to grand installations.
Many flowers (including all bulbs) and other items (some mulch, fresh compost) are toxic to pets, so make your garden safe for pets and know toxic houseplants to avoid. Never send bouquets (or plantable cards) to households with pets. Never display foliage near garden windows, to help stop birds flying into windows.
TerraBrick is an eco alternative to floral foam (made from plastic). Made with natural coir, it has a stable design base and excellent water absorption and can be reused, then composted after use.
