How Loving Yourself Helps Animals

We live in a world of narcissists , and this post is not about them! But a little self-love can go a long way not for just improving your own life, but also animals of all kinds. How so? For a start, loving yourself means taking good care of yourself. This way you will learn to stay no to those who drain your time (leaving you time for furry friends!), you will speak your truth and not be battered down into eating foods that others think you should. People who love themselves tend to eat good food, take healthy exercise, get enough rest, avoid gossip and do good in lots of little ways.

Going wider, people who love themselves are not full of hatred for the wider world. This means they usually practice good ethics when shopping for groceries or beauty products, donate only to humane medical research, don’t take children to view miserable animals in zoos (thus supporting the industry) and also tend to use their vote for change.

And finally – if you love yourself, you won’t be slave to the beauty or fashion industry, when it tells you to buy and use toxic chemical cosmetics or tells you to wear fur or leather, or to be anorexic to look like a fashion model. Love yourself enough to live life on your terms, and not what ‘industry’ tells you to!

I am going to listen to the wind and see what it tells me, or see if it tells me anything at all. I will follow the songlines and see what they sing to me. And I might bring a harvest of fresh tales, which I can scatter like apple seeds across this tired and angry land.
