Licor 43 horchata

Licor 43 Horchata Cream is the great hope, now that Baileys has discontinued its almond version of the drink. The company’s heart was never really in it anyway. The first version contains beeswax (not vegan) so they had to go away and draft a new version. Then pulled it.

Plumbers warn to drink cream liquors within a few months. Don’t pour them down the sink, as they kind of act like oil, clogging pipes and causing fatbergs.

This drink is one of the nearest equivalents, and actually has far better ingredients. It’s made to a family secret of 43 natural ingredients (hence the name) and is so high in booze, you can freeze it for a couple of hours to chill it (it won’t solidify).

Best serve chilled over ice, it kind of tastes like a blend of vanilla, coriander, oranges and lemon. With tiger nut (a tuber that gives the creamy nutty flavour, but is nut-free). The company has replaced milk proteins, so now it’s vegan too.
