Hanging pictures is something that most people do to make a home look nice, whether it’s hanging a piece of art of photos. If concerned about drilling holes through electrics, get someone else to do this for you. Modern walls are not strong (usually plasterboard) andcan usually cope with a few small screws or nails, as long as there are no electrics or water pipes behind. Heavy pictures benefit from a backing board to fix to wall studs.
It’s not good to hang pictures outside (damp and evaporation can seep indoors). Don’t hang pictures in direct sun (they will fade), above heat sources like radiators (will damage) nor hang heavy pictures or mirrors (they could fall and break).
