Nature is full of vibrant colours, and none represents life more than green. From the fresh leaves and trees to thriving forests and meadows. Green represents spring and renewal, and our connection to the earth.

Plants use chlorophyll to turn sunlight into energy, which is why fresh grass and leaves are green. Then at autumn when this pigment disappears, leaves turn brown and orange. From pine forests to moss-covered wetlands, green life is everywhere.  Wetlands are also filled with green reeds sand aquatic ecosystems.

Green Pigments in Food

spinach and blueberry breakfast smoothie

Green foods like spinach, kale, and broccoli are packed with health benefits, thanks in part to their pigments. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, these green wonders contribute to a balanced diet, promoting heart health, reducing inflammation, and supporting overall wellness. It’s no wonder we’re encouraged to eat our greens. Or this Spinach & blueberry breakfast smoothie (Short Girl, Tall Order).

Check medication before consuming lots of leafy greens.
