A Perfect Jane (also sold at Immaculate Vegan) is a lovely fashion brand of vegan boots, made in The Netherlands. They feature apple leather (from the Italian apple industry) along with recycled rubber soles (with a leaf motif). Each pair sold, supports animal rescue!
With recycled PET (plastic bottle) linings and cork insoles (cork does not require trees to be cut down, the bark is simply stripped from trees every 9 years). Made ethically in Portugal from sustainable materials.
The leather industry is not a by-product of meat, and most leather shoes are made in the Far East, with little or no animal welfare laws (and not many good ones for humans either).
Choosing sustainable vegan shoes that are made ethically in Europe is far better, just know that there are no half-sizes in Europe, so it pays to measure your feet before buying, to avoid the hassle of returns.
Quality brands use partly-biodegradable microfibres, that let your feet breathe. These are not ‘pleather’ (plastic shoes). And are also easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth.
