Milktopz (silicone reusable milk bottle tops)

milktopz

Milk Topz makes milk bottles (and orange juice bottles) from food-grade silicone. These are airtight and leakproof, to keep any milk fresher for longer. There are also lids to cover yoghurt or cream. The family business was started by people who did not like the ‘fridge smell’ of opened bottles of milk.

Whether you drink plant-based or dairy milk, avoiding food waste is always a bonus.

  • Milktopz help to keep milk fresh longer, by creating an airtight seal.
  • The leakproof design means that bottles can even be stacked horizontally, in the  fridge.
  • You can use different colours to colour-code different types of milk.
  • They stop other food transferring odours (say garlic!) to fresh milk.

Why use silicone milk bottle tops?

If you drink any kind of milk, single-use foil lids are wasteful and also tend to spill and not keep milk fresh for very long. Same for glass orange bottles of juice.

Silicone tops not only are spillproof and food-safe, but helps your fridge from having odours from nearby foods. They also make it really easy to identify different types of drinks (say one person likes oat drink and another hazelnut).

They are also flexible, nontoxic and dishwasher-safe.

Dip Tops (for hummus etc)

dip tops

Dip Tops are made by a similar brand, to keep items like hummus fresh.

We don’t recommend the tops to put over tinned food (or pet food), because once opened, food should be  transferred to a covered container (not kept in tins) for food safety reasons.

For tinned foods, remove and pop lids inside, or pop ring-pulls back over holes (step on upper cans to pinch inner rims before recycling, to avoid wildlife getting trapped.
