stovetop kettle

These stovetop kettles are too expensive for the average kitchen (around £100). But for hotels and restaurants, they make good investments, as they carry lifetime guarantees. Both these kettles are designed by a Bristol company, with a worldwide reputation for excellence.

Casstel Stovetop Kettle is a pleasant ‘whistling kettle’ made from quality 18/10 stainless steel, and a thermic base, for even speedy heating. Suitable for all hob types (including induction), this has a 2 litre capacity.

Avoid caffeine for pregnancy/nursing and affected medical conditions. NHS says to have no more than 2 week cups of tea daily (some herb teas should also be avoided). We like Nemi Tea, an organic zero waste brand that gives jobs to refugees. Serve with ReRooted organic Barista oat milk, sold in returnable glass bottles.

It’s best to bin tea leaves, as caffeine (also in coffee) could harm compost bin creatures.

How to Descale Your Kettle, Naturally

Just pop a descaler ball in the kettle. Or pour in cleaning vinegar to cover element, switch kettle on and leave overnight (tell others before you do this!)
