The South Downs: A Painted Year is a countrywoman’s illustrated ramble through the seasons on the South Downs, a national park in southeast England. Written over 20 years (as she witnessed the stunning natural world around her), Antonia’s diary records the progress of 12 months over her beloved South Downs.
Accompanied by beautiful and delicately observed watercolours, the book records the passing of the seasons. Her celebration of nature’s finery is lovingly created, and will appeal to anyone with a love of the South Downs and the natural world.
