Beautifully Illustrated and Inspirational Bibles!

Holy Bible Hannah Dunnet

The Bible remains one of the most fascinating reads on the planet. And it’s important to remember that some of the verses are parables, so don’t be too concerned at some of the more unsettling passages. But it has to be said: For those wishing people would open the Good Book to be inspired for time with the Lord, many book publishers don’t make it easy for themselves!

Absolutely tiny illegible print, with no creative inspiration like beautiful art. Nor beginner guides to make it easy for people to learn and read, if new to the stories. Some Bibles are even made with leather covers, something St Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animal welfare) no doubt would be upset about.

This beautiful Bible is illustrated by Hannah Dunnett, a Christian artist whose husband Ben Dunnett creates beautiful piano music – what a creative couple! With extra-wide margins and 32 pages of Hannah’s beautiful illustrations to inspire, this NIV Bible is perfect for those who love to reflect and journal.

The double-column setting and blank margins allow plenty of room beside Scriptures for notes and drawings, bringing a new depth and imagination to your quiet time with God.

A beautiful gift for creative worship, the endpapers feature original art by Hannah, inspired by the Garden of Eden (Genesis) and Revelation’s ‘Heavenly City’. Includes two ribbon markets and an elastic strap closure. Also includes shortcuts to key stories, events and people of the Bible, lists of references, and a reading plan.

This edition uses British spelling, punctuation and grammar, with royalties used to help translate and distributes Bibles worldwide.

Gideon Bibles in All Hotel Rooms?

If you’ve ever visited a hotel, you’ve likely found a Gideon Bible in your room. These are placed free by an evangelical Christian organisation, who also give them away to people in schools, hospitals and prisons.

It’s a lovely idea, but this is a case in point. The Bibles are such tiny type, that anyone even a little bit myopic likely can’t read them. Although they do have a very helpful ‘index’ at the front. So if you are feeling depressed, anxious, bullied or confused, newbies can simply look up the best verse to read. Some Gideons just distribute the beautiful Psalms and Proverbs, rather than the whole Bible.

The Gideons are only a small organisation with around 250,000 members, headquartered in Tennessee, USA. It was founded by travelling salesmen who met in a hotel room! Since then, many people have benefited, including quite a few people saying they have been saved from suicide, when coming across the Bible in their hotel room. One lawyer battling alcoholism came across it, and ‘relearned John 3:16, which set him on a path to recovery:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you like this website theme, you’ll notice it’s designed by a US company called Restored 316. The founder named her company after this verse!
