Thank You (to earth healers and peace makers)

Don’t you get fed up with MPs and the media banging on about everything to do with hate, division, winning, competition, nastiness, hate and bigotry?

What’s often forgotten in these arguments, are the real heroes behind the scenes, often doing work that no politician or media pundit would ever be able to do?

  • The unsung (and often) immigrant carers, wiping bottoms and feeding people with dementia, living on a pittance wage and living in damp bedsits with little income for food.
  • Volunteers for wildlife rescue or animal shelters, often dealing with traumatic injuries or abuse cases. They go out there to do the work, and keep our animal friends safe day and night.
  • People working in homeless shelters. Who feed the hungry, and go out at night to find local people, in order to help the forgotten of society.
  • RNLI volunteers who risk their lives at sea. And when they find ‘people on boats’, and do their job (saving lives). Are accused by Farage of being a ‘taxi service for migrants’, when they are not political.
  • Volunteers abroad who feed starving children, or mend broken limbs or comfort parents who children have been blown up by wars. Enacted by people ‘far away’ who don’t even feel bad of the carnage caused.
  • Firefighters who risk life and limb, to help put out wildfires caused by climate change. While our MPs bang on about ‘economic growth’. Then go home to their air-conditioned abodes, while vulnerable people (and pets) die of heatwaves, all because nobody will listen to climate science.

So let’s take a moment to thank those on the front line. If a fireman dies in a wildfire, there is complicity on the MPs who are throwing out climate science for political gain.

If a homeless person or dog dies on the street, thank the volunteers who tried to help, but know that they died unnecessarily, in a country with more empty homes than homeless people.
