Abel & Cole’s Weekly Organic Fruit & Veg Boxes
Abel & Cole’s Fruit & Veg Boxes are a wonderful way to get fresh organic produce into your body. There are a wide range of boxes to choose from, and for each one sold, a portion of organic fruits or vegetables is donated to groups working with those helping people on low incomes.
Some of the boxes are ‘set’ (so you can’t swap the contents), others allow you to swap out produce that you don’t care for, or perhaps don’t suit your digestion or medical needs (say green leafy veg if you take certain medications). Some are also veg only, others include fruits.
All items are organic, and aside from a few sea-freighted imports (like bananas and oranges), most items are locally-grown, to help our small independent farmers. And of course, the boxes are reusable to use the next time. Just leave them outside your door for collection, with your next weekly delivery.
How are fruit and boxes delivered?
You can choose a safe place to leave your organic veg and fruit box if you are out. Delivery begins from 4am, but drivers won’t knock your door until after 8am, so ensure there is a safe place to leave orders, if you are not an early riser!
Just ensure this is in a secure place away from animals (citrus fruits, onion, garlic, mushrooms etc are not safe near pets). Also if ordering tinned food/drinks, rinse and remove lids (or pop ring-pulls back over holes) and pinch tops closed before recycling, to avoid wildlife getting trapped).
If adding on organic flowers, read up on pet-friendly gardens to know which plants to not purchase. And avoid facing indoor foliage to outdoor gardens, to help stop birds flying into windows.
Due to Abel & Cole handling celery, celeriac, peanuts and nuts on site (and reuse of boxes), these boxes are not for people with allergies.
Deliveries are mostly plastic-free, and you can leave out any hard-to-recycle plastic (from any shop, even clingfilm if it’s rinsed and dried), for pick-up on your next delivery. You can also pause orders for holidays or any reason, and cancel your box at any time.
Where does Abel & Cole deliver?
Although originally just for London, Abel & Cole now operate nationwide, using electric vehicles to deliver from warehouses in Hampshire, Gloucestershire and other regional locations.
However there are lots more deliveries (up to 120 a day) in London. Enter your postcode to find if delivery is near you.

- A seasonal ‘best of April etc’ box
- The All British box (a sample box would contain carrots, beetroot, chestnut mushrooms, leeks, potatoes, spinach, spring greens)
- The Eat 15 plants box
- Small, medium or large boxes
- Seasonal salad boxes
- Organic fruit and juicing boxes
If you wish, you can also add on any free-from groceries to your order (from organic oat drink in returnable glass bottles) to basic organic groceries.
