We are all told to floss our teeth, to remove particles between teeth and reduce plaque. If you find it difficult to floss, ensure you visit a dental hygienist every six months, who will manually remove any plaque between your teeth, to stop it turning to something more serious.
Traditional dental floss is made from nylon (plastic) or beeswax (not for vegans) and sold in plastic packaging. Silk floss is made by boiling silkworms, so another no-go.
Georganic Floss (code AWIN15 for 15% discount) is made from charcoal and corn-based PLA, then coated with vegetable wax and essential oils. And sold in a reusable glass dispenser with metal cap. It’s one of the few brands without Teflon, sold in spearmint, orange or charcoal (whitening) versions. If your teeth are close together (or you wear braces), an easier one-time purchase may be a water flosser (not for young children).
If you live with pets, never use toothpastes with xylitol (just a tiny sliver or crumb of anything made with this sweetener could be lethal – even if licked toothpaste from around your mouth or a sink). Note this brand’s gum contains xylitol, so avoid near pets.
If you are pregnant/nursing or have medical conditions, go for unscented over ones made with essential oils.
