Miniml Eco-Friendly Cleaning Vinegar

Miniml unscented cleaning vinegar

Miniml Eco Friendly Cleaning Vinegars are the ideal swaps, to keep your dishes sparkling clean (also for restaurants and hotels). Made with biodegradable ingredients (even the scents are natural), these are vegan-friendly and not tested on animals, and sold in bottles that you can send back to be refilled!

With around 6% acetic acid, cleaning vinegar is stronger than cooking vinegar. Don’t use it kill weeds, it will also kill beneficial insects. And always wear gloves and ventilate rooms. Never mix any kind of vinegar with bleach (this creates toxic gas).

Choose Unscented version for pregnancy/nursing and near babies/pets. Citrus oils in particular are toxic to pets (even if rinsed and dried, residue could be licked from paws). For these homes, just clean with unscented cleaning vinegar and baking soda.

These cleaners are concentrated, so a little goes a long way. At end of use, you can get the bottles refilled at stores that sell them, or use the QR code to send off empty bottles for refilling, and return.

How to Use Cleaning Vinegar

Do not use on stone, marble or granite. This is not edible vinegar, so don’t put it on your chips!

  • For glass, spray and polish with a soft cloth.
  • Use to remove soap scum and limescale in bathrooms.
  • Add half a cup to your washing machine’s rinse cycle, to break down detergent and hard water.
  • Remove kettle limescale (fill halfway with cleaning vinegar, top with water, boil and sit for 30 minutes, before rinsing away. For coffee machines, run a brewing cycle with the same solution, then flush several times with water.
  • Spray onto tiles and shower curtains, leave for an hour and scrub off.
  • Use it to remove stubborn stains like spilled drinks, ink, grass and rust. Dab with vinegar, soak for a few minutes, then blot or scrub (test an out-of-sight spot first).
  • Use a 50/50 water/vinegar solution in a spray bottle to clean windows and mirrors, then wipe dry with a lint-free cloth.
  • Pour a cup down sinks, baths or kitchen waste pipes and leave for 30 minutes to keep drains clean. Run hot water through.
  • Spray inside empty bins and wipe down surfaces.
  • Soak a cloth in cleaning vinegar and wrap around taps with limescale or water spots for an hour. Wipe away loose deposits.
  • Use to remove sticky marks on floor.
  • To unblock plugholes, pour boiling water down the sink, add 1 tablespoon of bicarb of soda & 250ml cleaning vinegar. It will fizz, replace plug, wait 15 minutes then flush with more boiling water.
  • For hard floors, use with a plastic-free mop or use a bucket filter if using a microfiber mop, to stop leaching microplastics (collect and securely bin them, to avoid them washing away at landfill).
  • To remove urine smells, absorb with a towel, then apply the water/vinegar solution liberally, and sprinkle baking soda on top for extra help. Let it dry for 12 to 24 hours, then vacuum.
  • To remove odours from laundry, add one cup to the wash cycle (ideal for pet bedding, do not add essential oils).

Miniml rinse aid

Miniml is a fresh new eco cleaning brand, started by two young entrepreneurs, who struggled to find household products that did not irritate the co-founder’s sensitive skin. So they decided to create something better, mixing formulas in the garage, until they came up with products that worked.

Still based in its own factory in Yorkshire (creating local jobs), the range is sold nationwide to shops, hotels and restaurants (there is no minimum orders on business accounts).

There are discounts for regular subscriptions, and students.

For toxic cleaning/laundry products, you can recycle empty bottles with kerbside collections. For bottles with product, dispose of them at your council’s hazardous waste department.
