Nc’nean Organic Malt Whisky is the greenest whisky, if you like an after-dinner tipple. Made with notes of citrus, peach, apricot and spice, it’s perfect for drinking neat, on the rocks or in cocktails. Carefully crafted from Scottish barley, it’s then matured in red wine and American whisky barrels, and sold in a recycled glass bottle.
The company founder spent 4 years building the distillery on Scotland’s beautiful west coast, powered by renewable energy. You can even pop the biodegradable temper in your compost bin. The main source of waste (pot ale) is spread on local farms as a fertiliser, and leftover barley offers a tasty meals for cows on the farm!
Quiet Rebels is a seasonal whisky with flavours of spiced plum jam, candied orange peel and creme brulee (it’s still vegan). Also look out for their gin botanical spirit, also made from organic barley with a rich floral taste, made from locally foraged herbs including juniper, coriander, bog myrtle, liquorice, thyme, sorrel and heather.
