This fun ‘snappy birthday’ card is printed on recycled card. So not just fostering a love of crabs, but also saving trees for creatures on dry land!

Why show compassion to crabs?

Crabs are one of England’s most common marine creatures. Like lobsters and octopus, they can suffer in the food industry, as they are now recognised as sentient beings, but have fewer welfare laws. Crabbing also can cause injuries, even when creatures are released to the sea.

Why choose recycled birthday cards?

Traditional birthday cards are printed on virgin card, which means planting fast-growing trees (usually using pesticides) which are then chopped down, to make cards that are thrown away.

Choosing post-consumer waste to make cards is much nicer! It saves trees and also is a great way of using up waste that would otherwise go to landfill (it’s rotting paper that cause that horrible ‘landfill smell’).

Where to recycle used birthday cards

You can just add used birthday cards to kerbside recycling. However cards with glitter have to be binned. A good reason to stock on some nice eco alternative cards, like this one!
