Georganics tongue cleaner (made from beechwood)

Georganics tongue scraper

Georganics beechwood tongue cleaner is ideal to clean the coating of your tongue without stimulating the gag reflex, which a toothbrush would do. Cleaning your tongue helps to keep breath fresh and remove tartar and bacteria in the mouth. And also makes food taste nicer.

Made from FSC-certified beechwood, this is sold in plastic-free packaging. At end of use, just snap off and bin the head, and compost the handle.

To use, brush from the back to the tip of your tongue without applying much pressure, just gently scrap. Repeat until the tongue appears clean. Rinse the bristles well after each use, and replace every six months.

Avoid essential oils for pregnancy/nursing. Avoid dental care sweetened with xylitol (lethal to pets – if you chew gum which often contains it, use a gum drop bin to avoid littering). Do not compost floss, as it would tangle (essential oils can harm compost creatures).

Where to recycle plastic dental care products

Boots and Superdrug have beauty packaging recycling boxes. Communities can also order a one-off box from Terracycle, to recycle all dental waste (toothbrushes and heads, floss containers, interdental brushes, plastic toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes). When full, just send off in the prepaid envelope to be recycled into industrial items.
