Miniml oven and hob cleaner (in refillable bottles)
Miniml Eco Oven & Hob Cleaner is made with Yorkshire water and natural clementine scent. Just spray and let it sit for 5 minutes to dissolve grease, then wipe with a plastic-free cloth or sponge, and repeat if needed.
Never mix vinegar or lemon juice with bleach. Keep cleaners away from electrical components and wear rubber gloves.
Keep this away from pets as citrus oils are toxic to them (even if licked from paws on rinsed/dried surfaces)
This brand is sold with refill bottles that lasts ages. At end of use, take your empty bottle to a participating shop, or use the QR code to send back empties for washing and refilling. They are then sent back to you.
For homes with young children and pets, a better idea is to clean your hob and oven with bicarbonate of soda:
- To clean your hob, sprinkle with bicarbonate of soda, then spray cleaning vinegar on top, and it will fizz for around 20 minutes. Then use a damp cloth to wipe away grime.
- For ovens, remove racks and trays – wash/soak separately. Mix 1/2 cup with water with 3 tablespoons water to create a paste, and coat the oven interior. Avoid touching electrical heating elements or gas openings. Leave overnight. Use a damp cloth to wipe away dried paste.
Where to recycle toxic cleaning products
Most councils accept empty bottles for recycling. For bottles with produce inside, don’t pour down sinks or drains. Take to your local hazardous waste department for safe disposale.
