Great British Architecture (the history of 86 ancient buildings)

great British architecture

Great British Architecture looks at the stories behind 86 beautiful ancient buildings. From time-worn castles and cathedrals to tucked-away country churches and elegant stately homes, our isles are full of incredible and often surprising overlooked historic buildings.

With character, style and deep layers of heritage, these are often a curious mish mash of architectural styles. Each story tells a story, from medieval round-tower churches in East Anglia to unfinished Victorian Gothic mansions. And over the border, we visit a cathedral in Orkney, which glows with red sandstone – blending influences from many places including Norway.
