A Compassionate Storybook Bible for Children
The Just Love Story Bible is a beautifully illustrated Bible for children and families, focusing on the big message that God loves us, and created us to love God and each other. And to do justice and to love kindness.
In this book, youngsters are invited to open their imaginations, take hold of their belovedness, and understand that all people (and animals) on earth deserve to be loved. And to have dignity, equality and justice.
This isn’t a book of answers. More importantly, the great questions of life, such as:

- What is the soul?
- Why do people have so many ideas on God?
- Why do terrible and unjust things happen?
- What are the most loving ways to live with each other
- Can we believe in a mysterious God we can’t see?
- Can we still have doubts and disagreements?
Through retellings of thoughtfully selected Bible stories, this presents a way to hear how others have also had questions about God, and the answered they discovered. It includes 52 Bible stories (half from the Old and half from the New Testaments, along with bold striking illustrations, with scenes and Biblical characters in various shades of brown.
About the Authors
The Rev. Dr Jacqui Lewis is a senior minister and public theological at a New York city church, who advocates for racial equality, gun control, economic justice and equal rights for all.
The Rev D Shannon-Daley is an Associate Dean of a theological seminary, who for decades has been involved in child welfare.
The book is illustrated by Cheryl ‘Ras’ Thuesday who lives in the USA but was originally from South London. Her Caribbean and Asian heritage includes her colour choices throughout her art.
