The Good Roll (eco-friendly bathroom tissue)

The Good Roll is a Dutch brand of bathroom tissue, made from recycled paper and/or bamboo (a fast-growing grass – industrial bamboo is not the same as fresh shoots, eaten by pandas). And like fellow brand Who Gives a Crap? it donates 50% of profits to help build safe clean toilets abroad (in this case, Ghana).
The 2-ply paper is the perfect balance of comfort and affordability. Made from European recycled paper, the cellulose fibres absorbs moisture well, and the texture is comfy too. Their toilet rolls have 400 sheets (compared to 150 sheets of a supermarket toilet roll) making this way cheaper, especially on subscription.
The 3-ply is more luxurious, but a greener option if that’s why you use (not for sensitive plumbing systems, it could cause clogs).
Most toilet paper on sale in supermarkets is made from trees from Boreal forests (home to elk, moose, grizzly bears, wolves etc) and also sold in plastic packaging.
Each year, around 1 million trees are chopped down daily. Just imagine the effect if everyone switched to recycled paper, sugar cane or bamboo rolls instead?
2-ply is the best choice to avoid clogs with sensitive plumbing systems, but still gives better comfort than 1-ply. It’s best to subscribe online with eco-brands (most brands are measured cost-per-roll instead of sheet). So although our recommended brands seem more expensive, they aren’t, as you get way more sheets per roll!
Order 24 rolls for ‘1 to 2 bums’ in your household, or 48 rolls for families and bulk orders neighbours, friends, offices etc.
