Vegan Fast Food (how to make your own!)

vegan fast food

Vegan Fast Food is a super food by an American, who loves fast food. But when he went vegan, he had to relearn how to make his favourite meals. He now runs an uber-popular blog, and this is his first recipe book.

Avoid chips and sausages for young children and people at risk of choking. Read up on food safety for people and pets. For tinned ingredients, rinse/remove lids (or pop ring-pulls over holes) then step on upper cans to pinch rims together, to stop wildlife getting trapped.

Unless you have food waste bins, just bin pepper and allium scraps (onion, leeks, garlic, shallot, chives), citrus/tomato/rhubarb scraps. To avoid acids harming compost creatures.

Recipes include:

  • Burgers and fries
  • Fried ‘chicken’ wings and nuggets
  • Delivery-like pizza
  • Meatball subs
  • Tacos and burritos
  • Vegan milkshakes

Why choose vegan meats?

Most meat is from factory farms. And in a country of 67 million people, there is not enough land for everyone to eat free-range meat. If animals were not bred for the meat industry, fewer would be born. And remaining creatures could then live out their lives in peace (natural breeding would still occur, just not on the same as now).

Meat is also high in saturated fats, cholesterol and chemicals used to flavour them. Going plant-based  means you can enjoy these tasty meals, which are not just animal-kind but also far lower in fat and cholesterol-free. So you can eat more of them!
