Illustrated Reflections on Psalm 23

peace from Psalm 23

Most of us are aware of Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

But what does it actually all mean? Peace from Psalm 23 is a recently re-publishing of a vintage book by an American pastor, who also was a passionate nature artist, whose faith carefully included protecting the natural world and all its creatures.

Step into the stillness of a northern Michigan forest, to hear the whisper of wind through the pines, the hush of a deer at dawn, and the soft splash of trout in a steam. In this beautifully illustrated collection of nature parables (all structured around each phrase of the beloved Shepherd’s Psalm), the author invites you into a world where nature and spirit combine –  and where healing and hope take root.

This timeless collection will help you:

  • Be encouraged, uplifted and grounded by nature’s enduring lessons
  • Reconnect with your sense of purpose and direction
  • Find strength to face anxiety and uncertainty
  • Receive quiet comfort in times of grief and hardship

Each story is paired with Harold’s original art, making this a meaningful gift for anyone in need of a gentle word of hope.

About the Author/Artist

geese Harold Kohn

Harold E Kohn was born in 1918 and died age just 57, after enduring a life of many burdens, but never losing his faith or inspiration, to use his art to help God’s natural kingdom. A writer, artist, poet and pastor, his aim was  always to help those ‘grasped by tired minds’.

Seeing God as a kind and compassionate Creator, his own faith helped him through a rare brain condition, cancer, many brain surgeries, chronic hives and eventual blindness. And it was acute awareness of how his own life would be cut short, that he wanted to share the beauty of nature, people and the Creator.
