Earthly ‘Not Paper’ Reusable Kitchen Towels

Here at England, Naturally – we always like to profile innovative brands abroad, that are offering something unique not yet available (you can buy as a one-time purchase with international delivery, or be inspired to create something similar, if you’re an eco-entrepreneur!)
Earthly is a case in point. This North American brand offers a wide range of beautifully designed reusable kitchen towels, that can be used to replace disposable paper towels (most of which are made from trees chopped down in Boreal forests, home to grizzly bears, elk, moose and wolves).
Just one purchase of 10 of these, replaces 80 whole packs of paper towels in plastic packaging, which also saves you money. You can use them to clean up spills, as washable tissues, or even as napkins and guest towels. They can also be used as plastic-free cleaning cloths.
Choose unscented cleaners for pregnancy/nursing and near babies and pets (citrus oils are unsafe near animal friends).
Although some shrinking is normal (they are extra-large anyway), with washing they become even more absorbent (never use with fabric conditioner or bleach, as these will reduce absorbency or even ruin them).

The double-brushed fabric is buttery-soft, to soak up spills with ease. This is a quality brand, worth a purchase from abroad, as one pack will last a long time. Even packaged in a cute sustainable box, these make a nice zero waste gift!
The cloths are sold alongside a bamboo holder (to avoid chopping down trees) that has a stable base to stay upright, while you pull off cloths. Bamboo is the world’s fastest-growing grass (industrial bamboo is not the same as fresh shoots, eaten by pandas).
This brand also makes Scrubby Sponges, made from cellulose and coconut husk fibres, to avoid that ‘stinky sponge’ smell when they get wet. And they won’t release microplastics down sinks and drains. One side is smooth and the other scrubby. You can boil these to sanitise, or just pop them in the dishwasher.
Why Are These Not Sold in English Supermarkets?

This brand sells wholesale worldwide, so if you’re a small zero waste store, it’s an option! But one wonders why people abroad are buying these innovative alternatives.
Yet our shops and supermarkets still sell millions of packs of disposable flimsy paper towels in plastic packs, when there are wonderful alternatives like this?
