Pink Clay Skin Cleansing Bar (no palm oil)

These cleansing bars are zero-waste alternatives to plastic pots of cleansing lotions. The pink clay bar has a light floral scent.
Avoid beauty products with essential oils if pregnant/nursing. Many skincare items contain cocoa butter and/or zinc oxide (also found in sunscreens, cosmetics and deodorants). So if you live with pets, wash your skin before letting pets kiss you, or avoid items containing them.
Most kerbsides recycle plastic packaging. You can also recycle (including pipettes and hard-to-recycle items) at any Boots store (look for the recycling box).
What is pink clay?
Pink clay is often used in beauty for soothing the skin. A mix of red and white clay, it’s especially good for sensitive, dry and mature skin. It can draw out excess oil and brighten the skin tone, while minimising the appearance of pores.
Unlike harsher clays like bentonite, pink clay calms irritated skin and redness, without stripping natural moisture.
For congested skin, look for beauty products containing green clay or charcoal, which are better at absorbing oil than pink clay.
Who made this bar?
This cleansing bar is made by a company called SUMA, which is one of England’s main health food shop wholesalers. It supplies lots of organic foods but also has its own range of skin-cleaners like this one, and a charcoal version for oily skin too.
