Chocolate Pear Cinnamon Smoothie Recipe

This Chocolate Pear Cinnamon Smoothie (The First Mess) makes a nice change from summer berry smoothies. You can use home-frozen pears blended with plantmilk, plant-based yoghurt, nut butter and a little vanilla. It also contains salt to make it more tasty.

Pear chunks are choking hazards for babies and people with swallowing difficulties. Keep apple pips/seeds/cores away from pets due to natural cyanide. Read more on food safety for people and pets

If using tinned pears, remove lid and pop inside (or pop ring-pulls back over holes) and pinch cans shut before recycling, to stop wildlife getting stuck.

Avoid metal straws for children, on-the-move or dexterity issues, as they don’t bend.

If you like making smoothies, it’s worth investing in a good blender (it doesn’t have to be very expensive, but choose a decent one with a glass just, so the motor doesn’t burn out).

It’s UK law that any store selling electrical goods as to take back old ones (even if you’re not buying anything new). A good excuse to return the never-used chip fat fryer, and replace it with a nice new blender!
