Great Wrap (compostable stretch wrap from Australia)

Great Wrap is a wonderful invention from our friends on the other side of the world, to replace clingfilm, a toxic wrap used in kitchens and independent shops, hotels and restaurants worldwide.

Clingfilm also creates ‘nurdles’ that end up in the seas (they look like fish food, so are eaten by marine creatures). One of the world’s most wasteful and unnecessary inventions, this is a good alternative.

This food wrap is designed with bio-polymers to be compostable, but unfortunately is so far only available for sale with a minimum order of one shipping pallet. It is however unique, so worth ordering in bulk, and includes a welcome pack and QR code for information on safe disposal.

You’ll know it’s different from clingfilm, as Great Wrap is bright yellow! It will not only save on plastic waste, but also help reduce recycling costs, due to laws on single-use plastic in industry.

Just use to wrap food like you would with clingfilm, including a Great Mate with your first order. This helps you simply slice and wrap, like you would with a normal clingfilm dispenser.

Due to removing PVC, standard clingfilm does not even tear properly (and often gets tangled up), a problem avoided with Great Wrap. Plus it’s safer to wrap food.

The desiccant sachets are also compostable, made from calcium chloride and Montmorillonite clay.
