Raising a glass to the planet: discover Sapling Spirits

Sapling dry gin

What if enjoying a delicious drink could also be part of a more positive approach to the planet?

Sapling Spirits is putting sustainability at the heart of its drinks, creating spirits with a climate-positive ethos and a mission to make a difference. For consumers who want to enjoy great drinks while thinking more carefully about their environmental impact, Sapling offers an inspiring alternative.

To reduce glass waste, the bottles are sold alongside refill pouches and boxes. Once you’ve refilled your bottle, pop the pouch in your nearest postbox for recycling, no stamp needed.

Rinse then recycle bottles (caps can be left on).

Raspberry hibiscus vodka is made with wonky raspberries that have been rejected by industry. This fruity refreshing blend is nice for summer. Hibiscus should not be consumed during pregnancy, but hopefully you won’t be drinking vodka anyway.

Spirits with a purpose

For many years, conversations about sustainability have focused on food, fashion, transport and energy. Increasingly, drinks brands are also looking at how they can reduce their environmental impact.

Sapling Spirits takes this idea seriously by placing climate action at the centre of its business. Rather than treating sustainability as an afterthought, the brand has made it part of its identity.

This approach is particularly appealing to people who want the products they buy to reflect their values. Choosing a spirit with a clear environmental purpose can be one small way to make everyday consumption more considered.

What does climate positive mean?

The term “climate positive” generally refers to taking action that goes beyond simply reducing or balancing a product’s emissions, with the aim of creating a net positive climate impact.

For drinks producers, this can involve considering different parts of the production process, from the ingredients and energy used during distillation to packaging, transportation and wider environmental initiatives.

It is important to remember that sustainability claims can vary between businesses, so consumers should always look at the specific actions and commitments behind a brand’s environmental messaging.

Sapling’s climate-focused approach gives its customers an opportunity to support a drinks company that is actively considering its relationship with the environment.
