Island spirit in every sip: exploring Tipsy Wight’s vodkas

There is something special about enjoying a drink that captures the character of the place where it is made. Tipsy Wight brings a taste of the Isle of Wight to the world of craft vodka, creating spirits inspired by the island and made with local ingredients.
Some ingredients are foraged from local estate gardens, others grown on their own farms. And some ingredients (like wild garlic) come from nearby farms.

A taste of the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight is famous for its beautiful coastline, rolling countryside, fertile farmland and distinctive island character. It is an inspiring setting for an independent drinks producer, and Tipsy Wight embraces that connection through its use of local ingredients.
Choosing a locally inspired spirit can make drinking feel like more of an experience. Rather than simply picking up another bottle from the shelf, you’re discovering something that reflects the landscape, people and produce of a particular destination.

The range (all bar the honey version is vegan) includes:
- Spiced pear (made with star anise and ginger spices, serve with apple juice and Prosecco or make a cocktail with Amaretto, lemon juice, mint leaves and lime wedges).
- Cherry (made with cherries grown in Godshill village)
- Damson (fruits from a ‘lost orchard’ which produces too many damsons for the cottage owners to consume)
- Elderflower (the perfect summer drink wiith lemonade)
- Medlar (notes of fresh tea, green apple and subtle spice), this is nice over ice or with Prosecco).
- Quince (related to pears, this kind of tastes like a blend of pear, apple, citrus and floral).
- Wild mint and cucumber (made with three types of flavourful cucumbers, and wild mint from local woodlands)
- Wild Plum (nice alone or with Prosecco)
- Wild Garlic (grown in damp woodlands, this has a milder taste than typical garlic). Isle of Wight has one of England’s best garlic farms!
- Sloe (sloeberries are a type of wild plum, these are steeped for a year to ensure rich flavour and colour).
- Crab apple (grown in rural locations on Isle of Wight). This has a sweet acidic taste with a perfumed citrus note.
- Lavender vodka liqueur (serve chilled with tonic water or combine with elderflower vodka and Prosecco).
- Mulberry (combine this ancient fruit with Prosecco or serve over ice).
- Rhubarb vanilla is nice chilled or served with ginger beer. Check medication before consuming rhubarb.
- Hazelnut vodka liqueur (roasted nuts are steeped in vodka), serve neat with your favourite chocolates by the fire!)

Hedgerow vodka is a blend of blackberries, sloes, hawberries, elderberries and rosehips.
Chilli vodka (made with a blend including super-hot Ghost chilli (400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce) but others to calm things down a bit!)
Local ingredients at the heart
One of the things that makes Tipsy Wight particularly interesting is its focus on local ingredients. Using produce connected to the Isle of Wight gives the vodkas an authentic link to their home.
Local sourcing can also help consumers feel more connected to the products they buy. Knowing that ingredients are sourced from the surrounding area adds another layer to the story behind the finished spirit.
Vodka with a difference

Vodka is an incredibly versatile spirit, making it ideal for both simple serves and creative cocktails. While traditionally associated with a clean and neutral character, locally inspired ingredients can give flavoured vodkas their own individual personality.
For a refreshing serve, pour your chosen Tipsy Wight vodka over plenty of ice and pair it with a complementary mixer. Fresh fruit, herbs or a simple citrus garnish can add colour and flavour while keeping the drink beautifully uncomplicated.
Perfect for sharing
A bottle of Tipsy Wight can also make a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves the Isle of Wight, enjoys locally produced food and drink, or likes trying something new. Its island connection gives it a story that can be shared alongside the drink itself.
It can be enjoyed at celebrations, dinner parties, relaxed evenings with friends or simply as a way to bring a little island sunshine to an ordinary evening.
