fanfare label jeans

Blue jeans are one of the world’s most popular clothing items, but most are made from conventional cotton (responsible for 25% of all the world’s pesticides) and also many have leather patches. Also most are made in India or the Far East. In India, the local rivers literally are poisoned by blue dye run-off, to the extend that some street dogs literally have turned blue, from drinking the water. Here are some better brands (for any that include synthetic fibres), launder in a microplastic catcher.

Fanfare Label offers organic cotton and recycled cotton jeans, in many styles and colours (mostly blue). These are mostly very expensive but the patchwork upcycled jeans are more affordable and designed to last you years. These are embellished with vintage patches, handmade velvet bows and deadstock plaid fabric, and feature mid-washed blue denim, a zip fly, and a high-waisted design. Do not tumble dry – these are made to order, so allow 2 weeks to receive them.

Nudie Jeans are just one brand that have replaced the ‘leather patch’ with a vegan paper that looks the same, but helps protect animals. Jacron is made from celluloisic fibres and acrylic polymers (not ideal but better).
