Winter’s Song: A Printmaker’s View

Winter’s Song is a beautifully illustrated guide to one of the four seasons (part of a quartet of books by a talented printmaker). You can also buy this book as part of a boxed gift set of all four books. The art is accompanied by gentle prose, an ideal armchair or bedtime read for when the nights draw in.
Read how to keep safe in snow (people, pets and wildlife)
When it snows, I am a child again. I must go out for a crunching, snowy walk. And experience the landscape transformed. When the snow falls thickly, it makes our familiar village feel like a new place. Hare, rabbit and bird tracks become visible in the lanes and fields.
The world is quiet and still. Birds no longer sing, except for the robin. This small bird puffs up his red breast, the song notes tumble into the frosty air.
Each title in this pocket-sized series takes readers on a journey through the seasons, reflecting the author’s observations as the nature around her transforms.
Taking in landscapes from her home studio in Rutland to the low-lying marshlands of Suffolk and windswept hills of Yorkshire, the beautiful illustrations and imagery of the words, make this the perfect nature gift. Features over thirty favourite prints.
