Before cooking, read up on food safety for people and pets. Bin allium scraps (onion, leeks, garlic, shallots, chives) and citrus/tomato/rhubarb scraps, as acids could harm compost creatures. It’s okay to put them in food waste bins (made into biogas).
For tinned foods, remove and pop lids inside, or pop ring-pulls back over holes (pinch top closed) before recycling, to avoid wildlife getting trapped.

Why choose high-protein plant foods?
We all need protein to grow and recover, but you can easily get your protein needs on plant foods. The only people who are usually deficient in protein are people who are starving or anorexic (kind of the same thing).
High-protein plant foods include lentils, pulses and other legumes, along with tofu, tempeh and seitan (now found in nearly all stores). All these foods help you to grow and stay strong, yet are all free from cholesterol.
As long as you eat a good balanced diet, it’s very unlikely you will be deficient in protein!
