It features oils of tea tree leaf extract and lemon, along with anti-bacterial manuka oil (from New Zealand). Blended with orange oil to soothe irritated skin. In a base of aloe vera and coconut foaming agent.

With a natural fresh scent, just apply to wet skin and lather for 20 seconds. Then rinse hands and dry with a clean towel.

Bio-D fragrance-free hand wash and sanitiser

Bio-D fragrance-free hand wash is made with biodegradable ingredients, sold in easy to recycle packaging. Gentle yet effective, to kill 99.9% of bacteria. The 500ml bottle gives 250 pumps. Made with solar power, just apply a pump of soap, wash hands for 15 seconds, then rinse with clean warm water.

This hand soap is also sold in bulk refillable drums of 5 litres (fills the standard bottle 10 times) and 20 litres (fills the standard bottle 40 times, which work out more economical for commercial use and large famlies.

Bio-D sanitiser spray

Bio-D sanitiser spray neutralises 99.9% of harmful bacteria, and again is sold in a refillable 5 litre drum (refills the spray bottle 10 times).

To use, shake and ajust the triggle nozzle. Then spray onto surface, leave for 60 seconds and wipe off with a clean damp cloth. For tough marks and grim, spray and leave for 2 minutes, before wiping.

Delphis Eco Hand Soaps are made from biodegradable ingredients, sold in easy-to-recycle packaging. This brand offers home goods, and offers commercial bulk versions for offices, restaurants, hotels and schools.

The range includes:

• Anti-bacterial hand soap wash to clean and disinfect hands. This is suitable for daily use in kitchen environments and kills most known germs, along with bacteria, yeast and fungi.
• Luxury hand soap is PH balanced at 5.7 for a rich creamy lather that effectively removes dirt and grease, yet leaves hands clean and refreshed.
• Waterless hand rub is ideal to use in places where water is not to hand. It quickly removes dirt to leave skin feeling clean and soft, and is PH-balanced (6.5) and safe in septic tanks. Does not leave hands oily.

Handmade linen cotton face masks

These face masks are ideal for everyday use, if you wear a face mask to protect yourself or others from viruses. Handmade from a blend of linen or cotton, they are more comfortable, as well as being kinder to the planet.

These are not medical-grade face masks, but for everyday for most people. Do not use these face masks while asleep. Nor on young children or people with difficulties (who cannot remove them without assistance).

These masks are also good to protect yourself in areas like polluted inner cities, say from exhaust fumes. The double-directional folds allow the mask to expand over the nose and chin, for good protection and breathability.

The mask has two layers: linen and cotton with stretchy soft ear loops. Light and breathable, you can wash this by hand or in the machine after use. To prevent germs, it is advised to launder at 60 degrees (140 degrees Fahrenheit).

Why avoid those disposable blue masks?

Because they are made from plastic, and also work out more expensive. Critics say they are now ‘the new plastic bottle’, as billions of them are littered on earth, since the pandemic.

If you see any (or have to use them for medical use), always ‘snip the ear loops’ before disposal. This stops them tangling wildlife. Also ensure you put them in a secure closed bin (not open public bins where they could fly out in the wind and get littered again).
